What you’ll need
- Your work, education and other activity dates for the last five years, including explanations for any breaks.
- A passport or both sides of your driving licence. You can photograph documents here or upload a scan.
- Your qualifications, a bank statement or utility bill dated within the last three months, DBS details and two referees’ contact details for the application section.
Your history and captured documents carry into the application. You won’t need to enter them again.

Must be dated within the last three months.
Please get your documents ready. Lay each document flat on a plain, contrasting surface. Keep all four corners in view and your fingers away from the document. Nothing may cover the document: no fingers, objects, folded corners or covered text. Keep the entire page in the image, including your name, address and document date on a statement or bill. Use good light without glare.
The guide will highlight the edges when a document is detected.
